Rima Elizabeth Horton was born in Bayswater, London, UK, on 31/01/1947 to a relatively poor Labours family. She has an elder sister and a younger brother as siblings.
She attended a non-catholic, girls-only school of St. Vincent de Paul in Holland Park Avenue, which was run by Mrs. Reid and Mrs. Branley and had only 40 pupils at that time. Although it was fee-paying, it was still affordable to most people. In fact, a past classmate of Rima recalled that the school allowed a lot of theatre work, including a performance of Dick Whittington at the Mercury Theatre in Notting Hill Gate, and that Rima was always a character and spoke for herself.
After graduating school, Rima studied at the Chelsea College of Art in 1965, where she happened to meet Alan in a rather bizarre way and start a relationship that would last a lifetime and be, perhaps, not ideal in everyones eyes.
After graduating, both appeared onstage in some amateur productions and joined the CND. In 1977 they moved together into a first-floor-apartment in a Victorian terrace house on the edge of the upmarket near Holland Park. However, in 1989 Alan bought a property and moved out, leaving Rima to live on her own. According to some information, 09/07/2002 was another memorable date.
Since then Rima has concentrated more on her career aspirations, even though she remained warm-hearted toward him, for example in coming to Stratford for planting annuals everywhere in his garden of a rented cottage. One interview even has Alan describing her as tolerant. Shes incredibly, unbelievably tolerant. Possibly a candidate for sainthood.
What is known about Rimas character is that she is very sunny-natured and warm-hearted, even in approach toward Alans female fans attention she just laughs at it and finds it funny. She does not purposely place herself into the public, but likes being approached. Also, she is an occasional smoker whether it has affected her somewhat deeper voice or not and was seen puffing away during speeches and some of her favourite restaurants are situated just off the Portobello Road in Notting Hill.
